Road Safety Policy
In compliance with Human Safety Security and the Environment (HSSE) policy dated September 2002, some improvements in the HSSE have been made by some company to increase the performance of our road operations. To achieve this aspiration, we shall:
1. Improve drivers’ performance by addressing issues of drivers’ knowledge, awareness, skills, attitudes and commitment.
2. Enhance driving safety by improving vehicle and journey management.
3. Develop a conducive business environment with the establishment of appropriate incentives.
4. Cultivate and nurture a proactive HSSE culture in managing our road transport operations.
5. Play a leading role in promoting best practice amongst the industry.
There are three elements of government legislative institutions that responsible for the traffic safety:
1) Traffic routing
2) The education of traffic participants
3) Vehicle performance
With respect to automotive legislation on a worldwide basis, there are different starting points for various countries. In US, the responsible rule-making bodies was that traffic participants, especially the driver, could be educated to only a limited extent thus, vehicle occupants must be protected in the event of an accident caused by the design of vehicle itself.Whereas in Europe, legislators gave much more responsibility to the driver because the local point was the prevention of accidents.
